We went for a quick dinner. Haven't had the best luck with bbq joints in Alabama and Mississippi but Lord Have Mercy did we hit the Jack pot with Joe Mo's! The prices are amazing and the food was phenomenal. Do not judge this place by the plain interior! The smoked chicken was so good that this southern girl could give up fried chicken for it and that's saying something. We even ordered food to go for the next day!

This place has great food. I asked about the slaw and they gave a free sample . I thought that was awesome because no one wants to buy something they don't like. The food was delicious. I had the b-bque slaw sandwich with broccoli salad. They are so friendly there and highly recommend......

I was pretty disappointed by Joe Mo's Ba-Ba-Que since several of the local people I work with while traveling to Huntsville highly recommended them. The Google and Yelp reviews are really good as well, though I disagree this place is anything more than two stars. I visited Joe Mo's May 2019. I ordered the smoked pork ribs, potato salad, and cole slaw. The potato salad and cole slaw were good and I would eat them again. Yet the smoked pork ribs were far from the best I had and probably just average. With some practice, it is easy to consistently make really, really good smoked pork ribs. You smoke them slowly and for a long time. They come out falling off the bone tender, smokey, and delicious...no sauce needed. Unfortunately Joe Mo's smoked pork ribs were somewhat dry, not very tender, and without a full smoke taste. A true disappointment. Hey, maybe I got a bad set? Regardless, I will not be coming back.

So so. We drive by Joe Mo's pretty often and finally decided to try it on Saturday night. I was looking forward to the beef ribs which were are often rated well. I ordered a half rack of ribs and a pound of pork to go. After placing my order and paying, someone from the kitchen came out and informed me that the ribs weren't ready. Could I wait 20 minutes? I thought well I was hoping to dash in and out, but if the ribs are as good as other people rave about, then sure. I went out to my car and hung out for 20 min. I then went inside and proceeded to hang out for about 15 more min before the ribs were finally ready. We got home and dove in, but frankly were disappointed with the texture of the ribs. They were tough, so much so that my son who loves my smoked ribs wouldn't eat them. The pork did have an excellent flavor. The baked beans were too sweet - too much brown sugar or molasses. My wife and I surmised that the ribs were pulled off too early. I would much rather we had been told that the ribs weren't ready and given the option to order something else rather than giving us almost inedible ribs.

Best pulled pork I have ever tasted. Excellent meat on a bun, with with an outstanding sauce on the side, but you won't need it.
